Trail info

Postby Kris » Sun Sep 18, 2011 11:28 am

I've been working on the trail map to update it to a more interactive map:

http://www.nomambo.net/trail-info/

I just need some help regarding placemarks, I got only a few etc done... And I think we should add some images for each placemark to, I'll bring my camera one day and do some semi pro photos....

But help me with all the names you can come up with, I'm not sure where to place but I have some ideas I guess ;-)

Mark the berm bridge. What about all the regular names like Rat Tail, Zephyr, GAZZ, Dan's Trail, 5 minutes alone, Pepperidge, Headless Horse

I kept viewing this thread hoping each time that I could make sense of your post.. We have a total of 15 sections of trail named with signage, 3 features also named with signage. All of these are great reference points to start the trail mapping. Features that are not yet named are the berm-bridge, macgyvers berm, boo-hoo stu's dip around.. just to name some other areas for mapping points.. let me know when you want to take pics so we can meet up..

A bit off subject here but...are the mosquitos out in full force around the spillway? They are aweful over here around comite and hooper. I was thinkin about drivin out to the spillway for a lap or two w the wife, IF those damn bugs are more of a random issue vs the mosquito gangs I'm dealing w out here! Bug spray doesn't work either, been there tried that!

And I'm sure everyones advice will be 'just don't slow down or stop' yea yea yea, I know...

Lol, yea well you speedsters prob never have to worry bout mosquitos and ticks and stuff like that. Y'all never stop while riding! I still stop here and there and it just takes a few minutes of feet on the ground for me together a tick crawling up my leg or mosquitos to start attacking! This past Saturday we rode comite and part of hooper, until a friend broke his rear deraileur hanger and we stood there for about 3-5 minutes tryin to figure out if it was a fix or to just start walkin. Bug spray was sprayed everywhere except my face. I had a bunch of bites on my left eyebrow, so many bites that when I made it back to the car, my eye was swollen like I just got a right hander straight to my eye! Same buddy rode yesterday (tuesday) and said they were even worse than what we ran into on Saturday. Anyway, I think I will just make a ride on the spillway this sat before I head down to napoleonville to visit my rents! You guys have fun this weekend at the race and GOOD LUCK! xtrail shootout Saturday and comite classic on Sunday!

Kris.

Maybe you should give Ricky and Eric access to place pins on the map since they know the trail really well. That would at least give us all the named sections.
