Went out there this weekend. I started at the trail head and worked back to GAZZ. cut every tree and branch that was laying in the path then crossed over to the out bound trail and cut every tree in the path to the FF Connection. Was going to go back today but my saw is broke. Needs a new drive gear. Parts on order...sigh. The trail is still very muddy and draining in parts. It is dry enough to work on if your careful. Park on top of the levee as its still muddy at the toe. Brian got stuck at Dan's trail. Bring plenty of water with you as its hot as heck. Watch out for snakes as there is no place for them to hide and they will be more aggressive. I figure 3-4 weeks before its dry enough to ride on but we can still get out there to clear it.
Thanks Keith!! We could use all the help we can get.. We will be posting a workday schedule soon.. come out to our club meeting this wednesday @ fox and hound between 7:00 & 8:00 and meet everyone..
What we have here, little yellow sister, is a magnificent specimen of pure Alabama Blacksnake. But it ain't too goddamned beau coup.
Sorry. Couldn't make the meeting due to work schedule. Keep me posted on work times especially Sundays are good for me. Hope that helps I'd sure like to chip in considering I rode the trail plenty last year, which was my first year getting bit by the mtn bike bug! I can't wait to get back on it!
