60 mile Tour out of 200 entries: 115 did not complete the entire course
60 mile race out of 200 entries: 66 DNFs
60 mile single speed race out of 35 entries: 7 DNFs
80 mile race out of 100 entries: 66 DNFs
80 mile single speed race out of 23 entries: 13 DNFs
The attrition rate was 2/3s on the 80 mile race. Ya'll ever heard of such a high attrition rate in a race?

that's insane! Why did so many DNF? (besides the fact that it is really really hard!)

The time cut offs for the 80 are much more ambitious than for the 60 mile course. If they had a few more hours, I think many more might have finished. I made the last time cut off by less than 5 minutes!
