Just a reminder we are having the next meeting this MONDAY, AUG. 9 at 6:30pm. See above post for directions and location.

Among other items (like trail maintenance, group rides, etc...) we will discuss promoting the X-Trail Shootout race coming up in September!

Just in case anyone is interested....

NOMAMBO Meeting Wednesday 8.11.10 at O'Henry's in Kenner for 7:00. Discussions will include the Spillway Scramble MTB Race and 2nd Annual Benefit for Dan Dickerson taking place September 18, 2010. There is still a ton of preparation and planning needed for this event, as well as donations and volunteers. If your interested in supporting a great cause or need more information, please come out to the meeting and get involved. Thanks for the support.
cause I'm a trail rider....

Please join us at the Pastime Lounge under the bridge downtown Monday, Sept. 13 @ 6:30pm. We will go over progress and any last minute issues for the Sept. 19th X-Trail Shootout (we need volunteers), other races and events, upcoming group rides to Kincaid and possibly Oak Mtn. Also, we need to assess the deplorable trail conditions at Hooper Road park and certain other issues with the connection trail that we need to address. I will attempt to have Burns join us so that we can coordinate trail maintenance with BREC.

Lucky said....
Trail is in pretty poor shape. Many trees down and lots of erosion. Powerline is all grown up again. Bridges to hardtail seem solid, but look like they have sunk down considerably...not sure what can be done about that? We will discuss at the next meeting viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3731

Sorry I can't make the meeting, but would like to see and take part in a work-day at hopper just cutting face slappers. I know there are other problems, but if everyone worked on face slappers it would make the trail 99% or more rideable. You may have to get off to cross a log or go around some erosion in isolated spots, but if people can ride to those spots un-slapped they will be soon fixed, especially the logs!!

Quite correct Ray. A thorough inspection of Hooper this afternoon revealed way less than "deplorable" conditions. The logs will be gone before midday. The powerline will require the bushhogg, that is over at Comite. Anyone wishing to assist meet at Hooper by 7 AM sharp. Stragglers will be flogged.

OK, Burns, I won't be there at 7, more like 9 or 10, are you going to have the gate open to park by the sea-can?

Cleared the lake trail from the field back to the lake. Took out some of the worst sopts on the rest of the lake trail, it still needs some work but it is but is not too bad.

Cleared the overgrown spot on Dagobah and removed the downed trees from trail leading to shooting gallery, powerline switchback & lake trail. Won't be at meeting Monday.

There are indeed some sketchy sections that will need dirtwork, etc. "Deplorable" was indeed a poorer choice of words looking back, but at the time seemed appropriate.

I think once hadt tail is cleaned up it will be in fair shape, you will still have to bob and weave a lot on the rest of it but growing season is almost over.

So what still needs to be cut back? Hardtail mostly?
