"Churning and burning, they yearn for the cup
They deftly maneuver and muscle for rank
Fuel burning fast on an empty tank
Reckless and wild, they pour through the turns
Their prowess is potent and secretly stern"

UPDATE From LAXC: Due to statewide flooding, The Baton Rouge Battle has been rescheduled. The 2016 LAXC season opener is now Lafayette's Acadiana Classic, coming up April 17. The working new date for Baton Rouge will be Sunday, May 15. Current registrations or requests for refund will be honored. In surveying both the Comite and possible alternate of Hooper trails on Tuesday evening, after two warm days of drying time, there were still large areas of standing water. Also, BREC has closed these trails to the public until further notice and we must honor their policies.

Sorry guys – contraire to what the flyer says – camping the night before the race will not be allowed at the Comite Park this year per BREC.
So here’s some research I did for you (hope this helps).
There is a KOA in Denham that allows tent camping (28.00/night): http://koa.com/campgrounds/baton-rouge/
BREC’s FARR Park – is RV camping only.
And here are some hotel options within 7 mins of the trails with some pretty decent rates. (2 posted here) and of course plenty other options further in town.
Microtel Inn & Suites on Harding (seeing rates at $55.00 thru hotels.com / includes breakfast): http://www.batonrougeairporthotel.com/
Springhill Suites – Marriott (If sharing 2 double beds & sofa bed at $119.00:) http://www.marriott.com/…/btrna-springh ... s-baton-ro…/
