NOMAMBO Insanity Check Century 2/8/15

Post by Robin » Wed Feb 04, 2015 5:36 pm

COME JOIN THE FUN!!!

WHEN: SUNDAY!
WHO: NOMAMBO
WHERE: SPillway Trail in Norco.
COST: FREE!
WHAT: Endurance Ride! Ride as many laps as you can. 20 LAPS = 108 mile dirty century. Can't do that - then just ride what you can and have fun doing it with others.
20 lap riders plan to start at 7:00am but you can start at any time during the day. Breaks are allowed. In fact - bring a grill, bring your drinks and BEvERages, build a camp fire - make a day of it!

This event is totally free and just for fun. If you are doing Rouge Roubaix, this will be great training.
There will be no time keeping of any kind. All you have to do is sign your name and every lap, put a check by your name to mark your lap.
Mountain bikes, single speeds, fat bikes, and cross bikes are all welcome.

As a little side competition - Team BRAMBA has challenged Team NOMAMBA to see which club can log the most laps!

BRAMBA will have a pop-up tent out there with a grill starting at 10:00am and a group of "short lap-ers" starting then (myself, Bobzilla, Diana, Jason Huckabe, Jacob Oubre, and others! AND We already have a couple of Long distance ringers lined up (Charley Rome, Donnie Rowland, Kyle Peveto)....Can you hang?!?!

For anybody riding for BRAMBA - we will have a tent set up around 10am along with a grill going probably around noon, and plan to support those riding for us!
Will have bananas, Powerade, and a cooler of water to refill camelbaks.
Also plan to grill up some brats and chicken for chicken wraps with hummus!
So come join the fun!!

Don't forget - when you sign the ride sheet - tell them you are riding for BRAMBA!

Oh - and you don't have to be an "official" member to ride for us! Just say riding for BRAMBA when you show up!

From NOMAMBO:

Ok! The official results are in.............
NOMAMBO - 251 Laps
BRAMBA - 89 Laps
Total laps - 571 laps for a total of 3083.4 miles.
Thanks to everyone who showed up to support the ride. We have had a number of people ask if we will run it again next year so any feedback would be appreciated

From me:
63 riders total
Only 13 represented BRAMBA. And we still got in 89 laps!

NOMAMBO took the trophy - but BRAMBA will be back to try and take it next year!!

Update:
Since they opened up the Spillway and that trail will now be underwater for weeks - this ride has been moved to the Acadiana Trails in Lafayette!!!
Gonna be a blast checking out this new trail - so plan to come out and join the fun!!! You don't have to be an official member of BRAMBA to ride for BRAMBA. Like what we do? Show support and say your riding for BRAMBA to help us win the club challenge!
