BREC Reindeer Ride 12/4/15 FRIDAY 6-8pm

Post by Robin » Tue Dec 01, 2015 7:14 pm

UPDATE: Yes a bit confusing when BREC is advertising this event is several locations - some saying the 4th others saying the 5th. But we have confirmed that it is indeed tonight the 4th!

Welcome the holiday season with a unique night family bike ride up the levee from Skip Bertman Drive to downtown to be part of Baton Rouge’s Downtown Christmas Lighting Celebration. Participants will leave the levee trail head, join in a colorful bike parade through the downtown area, participate in the many fun evening activities and return at a designated time. Decorating your bike is encouraged! Event in partnership with BRAMBA, Backyard Bikes and the EBRSO Bike Team. Ages: 8 and older

Couple of Pictures from last year.

Details:

Good morning ! The riders for the Reindeer Ride this evening will meet in the corner gravel parking area next to the intersection of Skip Bertman Drive and River Road at approximately 5:45 pm. We plan to start the ride at or around 6pm from the Trailhead at this location . Our route will take us up the levee past the USS Kidd to the exit point at Florida Blvd. There is a possibility that we will be observing the fireworks overhead during this part of the ride. We will then proceed up the hill and travel down Lafayette street to the front of the Shaw Center. At that location we will park the bikes in a corral fashion and enjoy the Festival of Lights program. I will provide security for the bikes and at approximately 8pm we will regroup for a return ride to the trailhead. Members of BRAMBA and the EBRSO bike team will be providing extra support for this ride and please be aware that departure temperatures will be in the mid 50’s and return temperatures will be in the mid 40’s. Festive lighting of your reindeer (bike ) is encouraged. Get ready for a fun holiday adventure !
