Comite Conditions

Drainage is getting really bad. Trail is basically dry, but standing water in numerous spots, some I've never seen hold water. Just be on the lookout when riding.

The trail, as a whole, is pretty much dry. However, there are still some mud holes and areas of standing water that, while very avoidable, will get you if you're not paying attention. Try not to go swimming in the bowl....

Is the trail too wet/muddy to ride tomorrow (Saturday)? We wanna ride, somewhere, but don't have the $$$ to head outta BR for a fun ride.

Went by this morning and talked to a guy that had just come out and he said it wasn't too bad. He didn't look very muddy at all. Hooper was wet when I walked parts of it though.

Next time instead of taking someones word I think I'll check for myself. Went and rode Comite today and boy what a mess. Most of the drop bottoms are hog wallows. The trail was obviously ridden a lot after the rain Wednesday. The trail is holding water in a few spots, the Bowl, Cypress, Broken Bridge but that's normal. Lots of work to be done when the new trailer comes in.

And for the people who rode it wet and caused all this: There is a special hell for you one day. The one reserved for animal abusers , child molesters and people who show up to parties empty handed. You can do penance for your wickedness by attending every workday for the next... well until you die.

My thoughts exactly burns. Annie and I headed out there about 3:00 today. Parkin lot did look pretty empty and that shoulda told me something. There were about 6-7 cars out there and as we left our car I asked a young guy who had just 'rode' if it was messy out there and he said 'nope, not too bad'. But IMO it was a mess also. Limbs down all over the trail, mud that just never seems to dry up (for the last month or two), trees down, face slappers (and grabbers, pickers) everywhere, and the now usual water holes, that just never seem to drain off. This is the worst I've ever seen this trail IMO, it looked like a trail that no one rides anymore. It's a shame considering how much the trail actually gets used! I think the gates should be closed and locked until everyone gets an opportunity to get out there and put n a few hours of work (each of us) until we can make it more like a bad ass trial instead of a sloppy, rutted up, overgrown half ass trail. We did avoid all the big mud holes on our ride, but as burns said, you can tell the trial has been used a good bit over this last week = ruts.

Comite is in great shape! There's just a few muddy patches left and only a couple of inches of water still in the bowl. Our bikes didn't even get dirty today. The weather is perfect, go ride! :D

Holy Schwalbe, Batman!!! The Bowl is no longer a pond!!! It's now only a mere puddle. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the week it finally dries out completely. The rest of the trail is the best it has been in weeks. You will still have to put up with the ruts from the people who think mud-riding is acceptable, though....
