Jarrett Keller reported we currently have $960 in the treasury and will need to send out membership renewals this month. Look for those coming in the near future.
The main focus of this meeting was bouncing around ideas for future events. Burns told us about several things that BREC is planning. BREC will be hosting a MTB race at Comite this fall. They are currently eyeing the first or second weekend in November. Bramba plans to include and campout/cookout and night ride with the race weekend. More details will be posted as things are finalized.
BREC is also interested in having a bike fest in the spring. We haven’t done one of these in a few years and they have always been a lot of fun. Burns would like it could include some type of stage race/omnium. Possibly a Time Trial, Dirt Crit and XC race to be held over 2 days in conjunction with the festivities. We are still in the early planning stages for this event, but look for it to happen sometime in April or May 2007!
The new trail features that were first discussed at the January meeting are still waiting for BREC’s approval. Look for construction of these to start in the fall.
There is not much to report on the office elections as we couldn’t get anyone to leave the room long enough to be elected to an office. Diana Gary has decided to remain as president for another term. Brandon Taylor will stay as Vice President and Bramba.org guru and Jarrett Keller will remain Treasurer/Secretary. Tim Aymond has volunteered to be our beginner ride chair. Tim will be organizing group rides that are aimed at the new rider who is looking to learn the trail and learn some new skills. Jarrett Keller has volunteered to be the regular group ride chair. Look for a list of dates and locations for group rides soon, with a group ride at the Spillway Trail being first on the list.
Jason Hoggatt from BREC is working on some incentives for workday participants. These could include passes to other BREC facilities, golf courses, fitness centers etc, or even bike shop vouchers that could be redeemed for merchandise. Very Cool!
We only had a small group in attendance for this meeting, but Bramba is planning big things in the next year with the goal of getting more people involved with the club and on their bikes!
