BRAMBA Monthly Meeting - Monday, October 10, 2011

Meetings called to order at 6:30PM, merged around 7:00.

- X-Trail Shootout T-Shirts: There are a few extras left, $10 OBO.

- Fall BRAMBA Jersey Order: The order has been placed and the new jerseys will arrive sometime. If you need it before then,

- New Maps: The Comite map is done, website will be updated shortly. BREC is working on printing the large maps for the trailhead kiosks at Hooper and Comite. A fire-proof kiosk design for Hooper is being engineered by our top scientists. Jason Hoggatt, BREC, presented Wayne and David with plaques to show their appreciation for all of the work that went into the project.

- Trail Work/Incentive: Ray reported 178 hours of work this year so far, 18 trail workers. Joe Latino, Pearl Izumi, offered to provide some swag for the club work days. A few very nice items are already up for grabs this month. Joe also offered Pearl Izumi's services for the next club jersey order.

- Comite BREC/BRAMBA Shindig: A little party, probably at Comite. Festivities to include a movie screening, food and fire of some sort; depends what BREC will approve. Maybe just one of those outdoor chimney things. Kristen tells me it's called a chimenea. A date needs to be picked.

- Group Rides: The Mt. Zion ride last weekend was great. Robin, Yvette, Bobzilla and Wayne attended. A ride at Clear Springs is planned for this Saturday, 10/15.

- Upcoming Events: Kisatchie Fat Tire Festival at Kincaid Recreation Area, Oct 14-16. This weekend!

- Upcoming Races: Piney Hills Classic (Ruston) this Sunday, McGee Lungbuster (Ridgeland, MS) next Sunday, Spillway Scramble (New Orleans) next next Sunday. Single speed, night, costume, time trial taking place the day before the Spillway Scramble, 10/29.

- Treasurer's Report: Current Balance $2072.86, BRAMBA lost money on the X-Trail Shootout. What gives?

- Elections: 2012 club officer positions are up for grabs. Throw your hat in the ring!

Can't we just dig a hole as a fire pit? That's what the army allows for building a fire........

I just want to say thank you for the plaques. (along with dad) They have been placed on our walls, and we definately appreciate them. Also, we would like to express our gratitude for those who contributed to the team (from both BRAMBA AND BREC) that helped us complete this project. We couldn't have completed the project without you all..........
