1) BREC Legal Issues
Jim Rains, attorney representing BREC came to speak. Last January Scott Sanchez was injured while riding at Comite. He suffered a head injury and is sueing BREC seeking damages. Mr. Rains needs contact info from any members who were present at the time of the accident or can comment on the incident. A picture of the tree that Mr. Sanchez struck was circulated. The tree was trimmed at some point after the accident. The tree is pictured with caution tape wrapped around the stub of a trimmed branch. No one present has recollection of when or who applied the tape. Jim will leave a card with his contact info.
2) New member introduction

3) WFSP Donation

4) Kerry Stamey Day
April 29th, Noon to 5 PM at Comite
Activities: slow race, chain ring toss, group ride, barbeque
Need to start a sign up sheet for all the side dishes to be brought.
BRAMBA will provide the meat. Volunteers are needed to bring everything else.
Action item: Ryan to add an editable document for people to sign up for sides on the forum/FB.

5) BRAMBA 20th Anniversary
We should plan a party to celebrate, after Kerry Stamey Day.
6) X-Trail Shootout
We should schedule this race this year, a Sunday morning race, not the morning after an LSU home game, and not at the same date as the Spillway race.
Discounted entry fee for BRAMBA members!
Action item: Bob will solicit SWAG from the local bike shops.
7) Membership
We currently have about 30 paid members for 2012 on the circulated list. A few others have joined since.
Info at local bike shopsWe used to have a flyer for BRAMBA but it is obsolete and any remaining flyers should be removed.
Action item: Bob to bring current trail maps and membership applications to the local bike shops.

9) WFSP Trail
BRAMBA would like to recognize Wayne Cox for the work done at the trail, especially the new wood bridges. The trail has 23 bridges and most of them have been replaced with rider/hiker friendly bridges of quality construction. The wood on the new bridges will eventually be attacked by the ground moisture and will need to be replaced. The bridges were built to last several years and their condition should be monitored. The bridges have been built for a 250 lb rider weight, four feet in width (the bridges, not the riders), with no handrails. This is a tremendous improvement in safety and quality. We will announce the next trail maintenance day. A trail steward has been appointed. Wayne will no longer be involved once the current bridge work is complete. BRAMBA needs to decide their long-term relationship with the park for the trail.

All group rides to start from Comite trailhead.
12) Trail Maintenance
Next trail maintenance day is Sunday, April 15th 9:00 AM at the Comite trailhead.
Some gravel needs spread and some trees are down. Need to develop specific plan of action for the work days.
Action item: Jeff to contact Jason Hoggatt 272-9200 x570 to get credit for volunteer work hours that have already been done.
13) Treasurer’s Report
A few deposits to the club account were made. BRAMBA membership cards were ordered.
