Comite Conditions

Re: Comite Conditions

I didn't check the message board yesterday before I went to ride, but the Comite parking lot was soaked and the ditches full, so I headed home without getting out of the car.
Anyone check it out? I was hoping to ride this afternoon (Thursday).
I'm new to the trail, but I'm told it drains well.
When do you think it will be OK for riding?

Hopefully Saturday morning...again weather permitting! It does drain well but we don't want to cause damage to the trails so making sure its "rideable" is the best thing to do! That's my advice! I plan to be there Sarurday morning

I'm wanting to go ride the trials today around 11:30 or so but was wondering if anyone knows how it is out there?

As of 9:00 A.M. today trail was good. A half a dozen muddy spots but nothing you couldn't go around.Radar look as is it may have gotten some more rain this morning but not sure if it did or not.

Baton Rouge received 3 1/2" of rain between yesterday and this morning, which is a lot rain. Please, give the trails at least couple of days to dry out.

I know the rain was hit and miss all
Over baton rouge...I live in Ethel an we didn't receive but maybe 1/2 to 3/4 inch of rain! I drove out to comite yesterday at 1:30 and walked down to marker 2 and trail seemed to be in good shape...I am driving out there in the morning and will do the same, plan to walk FIRST, if not bad I will post more information then...but I do AGREE that if it did receive a lot of rain it needs to dry out before we all ride so let's all communicate as much as we can to help us all out!! Peace out and pedal hard!

Well I'm here as are two other people...as I'm walking in I can tell its not in the shape to be ridden, the ground is way soft and wet in areas! If your like me and HAVE TO RIDE today then go to the LSU lakes, I'm heading there now! I know it's not te trails but the less people ride it in the shape it's in is te less people it takes to maintain it to be in great riding condition! So a message to EVERYONE, PLEASE WAIT A COUPLE MORE DAYS TO RIDE THE TRAILS!! It will do us ALL a favor in the long run!! Peace!
