TUESDAY: Kill da Wabbit Twaining Gwoup Wide!

TUESDAY: Kill da Wabbit Twaining Gwoup Wide!

....well let's don't get too carried away - this is more of a catch and release program. I am finally back riding for good and after being out for 6 months - I seriously need to get back in shape, so this ride is partly for my selfish reasons but I think everyone will benefit.

This ride will start at 5:30pm. You fast racer types will take off at blazing speeds. While I - and whoever else is currently riding my pace and wants to be the Wabbit, will wait 10 mins before taking off. My Comite lap right now consists of everything out there except for SkidMark/Newtons (to be added as I get my riding confidence back). I will start off riding 2 laps adding a 3rd and 4th as my cardio and endurance start to re-build. Right now, I have NO doubt that you speed demons will catch me somewhere on my second lap. My goal is to keep getting further and further along the trail before you do catch me - eventually making it to maybe lap 3 before getting caught. I see this as a win/win for us all. You will push yourself to chase me and I will push myself knowing someone is coming for me!!

If you do happen to be running late and miss the start - just zoom past me and let me know you are coming for me!...you won't miss me...I'll be the one with the pink bunny poking out of my camelbak.

I am totally open to suggestions - if anyone sees a way that this might be better adjusted. (Does the delay time need to be shorter or longer?)
I think this will be fun and really hope that I've got some fasties wanting to play.

Disclaimer: Remember this trail is ride at your own risk - Helmets are mandatory.

Robin,
Glad you are back. I hope you are feeling well again. How is the knee?
I have been out for two months and have one more month to go. I can't wait to go mountain biking again. I just started riding my road bike again this weekend, but it's not the same. Nothing like a good mtn. bike ride.

I'm not 100% yet - but that will come with more time.
What happened to you that has taken you out for 3 months?

This sounds great, Robin! I signed up for a climbing class which will consume my next 4 Tuesdays, but after that - all in.

I had open heart surgery. The good news is I got a new fuel injection system and I am hitting on all 8 cylinders.
I am ok to ride the road bike, the mtn. bike needs to wait 3 more weeks.

About 5.4 - 5.5 according to my cycling computer. Also depends on the route you take exactly. The extra part of x-trail off BREC property, the Noose, Sandpit, Anthills, Bowl and Skidmark all can change the distance depending on what you ride.

Tuesday Rabbit Ride Recap:

The rabbits are hopping about the parking lot discussing the nights adventures to come when she arrives. The young beautiful dark haired Huntress has appeared. The Rabbits know she is swift and strong and the fear starts to build. She gracefully dives into the forest getting a head start on the hunt. The mature female rabbit (attractive) waits before going in after her. She wears a nasty scar on her leg as she has met with trouble on the trails before and wants the Huntress to get well into the woods before starting her lap. She darts in with a young bunny not realizing that the other wild hare's decide to sit back (laughing) letting the two go off on their own. (she will thump her foot at them later). Another mighty Hunter...known as Bobzilla to many....also sits back and waits. He too wants in on the chase. Frantically hurrying through the woods the rabbit realizes she has lost the young bunny and is left to thwart off the Hunters on her own. She makes it to a tricky rooty tree base and as she scampers over, her prized possession and Tuesday riding pal (stuffed pink bunny) springs from her pack landing off to the side of the trail...unable to stop...the rabbit shouts back....stay alive...I will come back for you...and continues on her way. Successfully making a lap (and meeting up with the young bunny once more...only to loose him again...) the rabbit enters the woods for one more lap. Eyes wide with fear this time as she knows she is pushing her luck, they will surely catch her now. Halfway through the lap and growing tired...she pushes on....she knows she can not stop. Poor pink bunny is nowhere to be found. They have captured it and are rapidly coming for her. Making her way out into the brier-patch field she has a glimmer of hope that she may make it through.....heart pounding she pushes harder and harder! This is it....the final stretch.....she has done it!....and howls out with delight (as rabbits are wont to do)...THE RABBIT LIVES FOR ANOTHER DAY!!

Players:
Young Beautiful Huntress = Miss Holly
Mature (attractive) Rabbit = me
Bobzilla = Bobzilla
Wild Hares = You know who you are

Be careful taking roles like this Bob. You could get type cast.

Robin,

Good job as ride coordinator for adding the spice aspect to the rides and setting competitive goals for riders of various skill levels. You have also added entertaining literary skills to this series. I am envious of your cool scars and you need to get that rabbit a helmet before you kill him when he loses his nerve and bails.

Holly is obviously in a league by herself and I wish Yvette could have been there yesterday. I would like to see her push Bob down when she laps him. :)
