UPDATE: we are still on for tomorrow morning. Our focus will be erosion, so bring your shovel. A visit yesterday confirms there is plenty of standing water in certain locations though much of the trail is only just damp and tacky, not mushy. And most likely, frozen in the morning. Post if you plan to join us. BRAMBA will provide lunch to all volunteers afterwards.
We are planning a Trail Maintenance Day this Saturday February 5, 2022 from 8:00am-noon at Hooper Road Park Mountain Bike Trail.
Bring yourself and some water for while you’re on the trail, and BREC and BRAMBA will provide some tools. Our primary work will be addressing erosion and drainage so bring your shovels. There is always a chance of needing to cut back branches so if you have a handsaw, you may want to bring it. It will probably be a little wet so bring or wear appropriate footwear. We are keeping watch on the weather this week and the amount of rain expected so check back here for confirmation later in the week or watch for updates.
Work hours are from 8:00 AM until Noon. Can’t be there the whole time? No problem—do what you can. We appreciate whatever help you can give. BRAMBA will even plan to serve lunch to all who volunteer.
